Testimonials

"Shane Hill is a brilliantly inventive guitarist of great experience. His improvisations are always lyrical and pleasing and his versatility can adapt itself to any genre from be-bop to latin, from rock to traditional jazz. Certainly it is always a pleasure to listen to his elegantly rhythmic performances, played with fine tone, precisely controlled phrasing, and profoundly musical enthusiasm." Graham Wade.

“Shane plays with sensitivity, sophistication and maturity”. Louis Stewart

“I met Shane too many years ago, when we both had Tal Farlow in view. Shane had played with him at a Leeds college master class and I played with him in a Jazz club in Blackpool. I was struck then by Shane's eye for detail. He had an open heart for music and played freely, spiritedly and honestly. He paints, sometimes, in fine detail, other times with broad strokes. And, if I may say, he's one of the good guys on, and off, the stage”. Mike Walker

"I love Shane's playing. We first met in a local music shop when he was 18. I was immediately impressed that a young man had already developed such facile fingers and technique. Now many years later Shane has progressed into one of the finest guitar players I know". Dave Markee December 2018.

Bassist Dave Markee - was a member of the Eric Clapton Band from 1979 to 82 - a lineup that also included the guitarist virtuoso Albert Lee. As a session player Dave has appeared on albums for artists including Joan Armatrading, Henry Mancini, Pete Townsend and Cleo Laine.
